I have a confession: the Mulege Roof Bonus Board has haunted my Forza Horizon 5 map like a tiny, smug piƱata nailed to a rooftop. Every time I spawned near Casa Bella to change my character or simply start a new session, that glowing rectangle would stare down at me, completely unimpressed by my increasingly deranged hill-climbing attempts. If you're still stuck in 2026, let me save your paint, your controller, and whatever remains of your self-respect.

The core problem is that this particular board is not meant to be reached by a plucky SUV with a dream. It sits on a roof near Casa Bella, which is basically Horizon's version of a spawn point that reminds you of unfinished business. I cannot count how many times I said 'just one more try' and suddenly lost an hour.

Before you do anything, you need PR Stunts. If you have unlocked the first Rush Adventure Chapter, you should see Drift Zones and other event markers. Look just north of Casa Bella and you'll spot the Heights of Mulege Danger Sign. That big yellow ramp is your best friend, your enemy, and ultimately your ticket to clearing this collectible.

Here is the exact method that finally worked for me:

  1. Set a waypoint to the Heights of Mulege Danger Sign.

  2. Start your run-up from the road to the north. Give yourself enough distance to build proper speed instead of doing a sad little 10-meter shuffle.

  3. As you approach the ramp, aim slightly left but stay inside the flags. The board is not positioned for a perfectly centered, dramatic launch. I learned this after several unplanned cactus inspections.

  4. Hit the ramp, send it, and then immediately evaluate where your car actually went.

My first attempt missed so badly that I think the board laughed. My second attempt was somehow worse. Then I remembered the rewind feature. On consoles, press Y to rewind after a failed jump and adjust your trajectory. This is dramatically faster than driving all the way back up the road after each failure. Honestly, rewind deserves a co-driver trophy for emotional support.

If you are still coming up short, speed is the issue. You can buy a faster car in Forza Horizon 5 or apply a tune to your current car. A tune is not always the best value compared with buying something quicker, but it can be enough if your current car is only a little slow. Just don't keep punishing the same starter hatchback and expect physics to feel sorry for you.

Common ways I embarrassed myself:

Mistake Result
Launching dead center Missing left and kissing a wall
Ignoring rewind Wasting 30 extra seconds per attempt
Entering the ramp too slowly Rooftop becomes a wall, not a landing zone
Expecting a friend to smash it for you They can't affect your world, but at least you can share the pain

That last point is important for multiplayer. If you are in a convoy and your friend smashes the Mulege roof board, it does not disappear from your game. Convoys can interact with each other, but they cannot alter another player's game world. You can work together to figure out the line, then each person gets the board on their own map. It's like group therapy, but with more horsepower and occasional tree collisions.

After I finally smashed the board, I drove back to Casa Bella just to admire the now boring, board-free roof. Forza Horizon 5 is still out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and it remains a brilliant sandbox for exactly this kind of ridiculous, optional achievement. Just remember: the Mulege roof board isn't impossible, it's just waiting for you to use a ramp and your rewind button with a little more dignity than I did.
